Cimarron is a neutered male young adult Border Collie/Aussie mix (perhaps!)   Cimi came out of the hoarder confiscation in Casper, Wyoming along with seven Shelties, none of whom had ever been socialized with humans.  He is young and rowdy and very silly.  He has quickly learned how to please the "older woman" in his life and can't wait to go for walks on a long line and accept treats gently from an outstretched hand.  His housebreaking is coming along and he tries not to soil his bedding.  Because he has just been neutered, he can't run around like he wants to do.  Toys were a totally new experience for him and he is making the most of them.  Sterilized marrow bones are his favorite so far.

This dog can really cover the ground when he runs.  And he leaps in the air with a half-twist and comes down lightly and goes "tah dah."  If you have ever seen a video of a canine freestyle performance (aka dancing with your dog), you will see why I am so excited at the prospect of Cimarron having an extremely active best friend.  If Cimi is not kept busy, he will not be a happy dog and you would not be a happy dog owner.

All of the standard veterinary care has already been completed.  He is UTD on vaccines and microchipped. Heartworm negative and great baseline CBC and blood chemistries.   He keeps eating his collars somehow so he will have a new collar and leash when he goes to his forever home.  Taste of the Wild grain free kibble is what I am feeding to most of my dogs these days.  He will come with some to transition to whatever dog food you will choose.

Our first step toward any potential adoption is a completed application which you will find on our website.  We will not accept any applications from folks who just want a dog in their backyard.  Cimarron is an athlete.  Up until now, his needs have been ignored.  Please explain in your application how you will enrich his life.  And he will enrich yours in ways you can only imagine.

More about Cimarron

Good with Dogs, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults, Somewhat vocal, Requires a yard, Cratetrained, Playful, Intelligent, Goofy

Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Adoption Policies and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
