PHONE INTERVIEW, FENCED YARD, GREAT VET REFERENCE AND A PLEDGE OF A LIFETIME OF LOVE. From HoneyBear's foster mom, "HoneyBear needed to get out of a shelter immediately, so she came to me. Now she needs a permanent home where she can settle and bloom. I have had her for only two days and I think she is phenomenal. I adore her already. She is a giant bumbling goofball who doesn't know that she is almost 70#! You'll look at her and think DOG when you should be thinking PUPPY! She is exploring the world as all puppies do, with her mouth, with her jumpy feet, with her bashing into your legs and trying to steal your slippers. She plays fetch. She takes treats with a gentle mouth. She is respectfully curious about cats. She is learning dog social skills from my Collies but, honestly, she is pretty fluent in dog speak. You must remember that she is a baby. She has a baby brain. She is also one of the best dogs (in her heart) to have graced my home. If my own life weren't a bit challenging right now, I would keep this girl in a heartbeat. I train service dogs. I have not put her through an evaluation but in this short period of time, I've seen half a dozen natural behaviors that I could shape into mobility service dog tasks. She is going to be a BIG DOG. If you can accept her as she is, a puppy with little training and even fewer manners, and see into her golden shining heart, with love and dedicated positive training, you will have an amazing best friend. I'd say no younger children, not because she is mean but she is just too big and too bumbling bounding excited and would bowl over and smash unsuspecting little kids or micro sized dogs. You will see a "dog" who will pull you on walks. I see a very smart puppy who will learn to heel up and walk by your side within a few positive rewarded training sessions. HoneyBear is a lovely, energetic, giant goofball 10 month old baby. She needs YOU to be her FOREVER loving bestest friend." So sayeth Pam!
