OUR FIRST STEP TOWARD ANY  PLACEMENT IS A COMPLETED APPLICATION WHICH YOU WILL FIND ON UR WEBSITE AT www.colliesheltieresuce.org.  THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR ADOPTION ARE IN THE CONTENT OF THE WEBSITE.  A FENCED YARD, PREVIOUS SHELTIE EXPERIENCE AND A FABULOUS HOME VISIT AND REFERENCE FROM YOUR VETERINARIAN.

Chrissy (for Chrysanthemum) is a 14 month old spayed female tricolored Sheltie.  At 16#, she is petite but has excellent confirmation.  She is slightly braver than her other Sheltie pals and seems to be a natural leader.  We have watched her flying with her feet barely touching the ground and then zooming over the other dogs with no effort at all.  Agility prospect?  Maybe.

Chrissy came to RMCSR as an undersocialized kennel dog less than 2 weeks ago.  It is amazing how quickly she has picked up on the routine in her foster home.  She is making good progress on the whole potty issue, which is definitely a plus.  We have not begun any obedience training yet.  But she will now make good eye contact with me and a ton of handling and baby talk should bring her around in short order.  It will be awesome to watch her come into her own.

Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Adoption Policies and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
