About Buddy

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: White
  • Housetrained: Yes
Collies and Shelties are obviously the focus of our rescue group as you can tell from our name. But from time to time a dog of another breed comes our way and needs our help. "Bitty Buddy" is one of those dogs. He is a Pomeranian or possibly a mix and a mighty cute one at that. Buddy is about 2-years-old and weighs in at 11.5#. This pup is happy and healthy and a true joy to have around. He is neutered, vaccinated, has great bloodwork and is micro chipped. His previous family did not have the time or patience for Buddy but he has not been traumatized or abused in any way. He does show some separation anxiety so we will be looking for a family with at least one member that stays home a good chunk of the time. Buddy taught himself the doggie door in his foster home and he is entranced with running in and playing with a toy and then running out and tossing a toy in the air to celebrate the day. He will play on his own for long periods of time but also loves to share the fun with other dogs about his size and would enjoy adding well-behaved children in the fun. Buddy has a huge bark that sounds more like it belongs to a lion than a Pom. His bark would be a good deterrent to anyone trying to break into a house and steal the kibble, or worse, his toys. Please begin the process for adoption by going to our website at www.colliesheltierescue.org, reading our policies and guidelines, and if we sound like the right group for you, proceed to the online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. A good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit will round out our screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously. Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
