Get a load of Nick! He is 3 1/2 years old, a neutered male Sheltie /Papillion mix that is quite the little fellow. This is a smart, sociable 20# pooch that adores men, women and school age children. He is great with other dogs and is ready to play at the drop of a hat. One of his human friends swears that Nick is in the genius category because his tricks include roll-over, high five, shakes with both front paws and jumping through a hoop. In his foster home, he watched a couple of small dogs go through a doggie door and that was enough for him. If they could do it, so could Nick!
You would not think it to look at darling little Nick, but he has been passed around a bit in his short life. Nick tracks back to a commercial breeder in Nebraska that breeds both Shelties and Papillions. Obviously, she was not watching her dogs carefully because Nick is the product of what is called "an oops litter" or an unintentional breeding. And now he has become a designer dog. (We used to call them mutts!)
Nick is completely vaccinated and micro-chipped with a Home Again chip. He is heartworm negative and has great baseline blood work. He is housebroken and is used to being with his people. Hop into the car, no problem. Go for a ride, no problem. Trot around the block, let's go! He comes with all of his treasures....a snuggly dog bed, a travel crate (although he does not seem to need it), the cutest little dog dish you ever saw, a Denver Broncos blanket for game day, some toys and treats and the dog food he is used to eating. We are changing Nick's diet to a much better quality kibble gradually. But when you feel the silky quality of his fur, you would think he had been raised on a premium dog food.
Nick is looking for a forever home this time around. No more bouncing from place to place. We will screen very carefully for this special pooch. And he will join in with his opinion, too. A genius like Nick should have his opinions count.
