Bonnie Lass is an eight-year-old sable and white rough-coated Collie. She weighs about 60#, is spayed, current on vaccines and microchipped with a Home Again universal chip. Her blood work is all normal and she is heartworm negative. In short, she is as completely ready for adoption as we can make her. And she has begun to dream about her forever family. Bonnie LassBonnie Lass is calm and gentle. Nothing much bothers her. She is most contented to be indoors, on a big cushy dog bed, as close to her humans as possible. When she craves some one-on-one attention, she simply stands in front of you and looks you directly in the eye with her tail wagging gently. Once she has received the right number of snuggles, it is back to some comfy spot to resume her nap. She enjoys the other members of her foster pack. On occasion she will attempt to engage one or more in a game of chase, but certainly not every day. She is a bit too dignified for that. As far as kids go, she is patient with them but does not indulge in actual play. We are convinced that before she came to us, Bonnie’s life was challenging and lonely. Although she has not exhibited signs of abuse, she most assuredly had not known much tenderness or compassion. What the lass needs now is the most important thing a Collie like Bonnie can ever have . . . people to call her very own and that she can depend on for her lifetime. Kindness, friendship, good food and a stable home environment don’t sound like too much to wish for . . . do they? Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Adoption Policies and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously. Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well. |
