About Fuzzy Wuzzy

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Golden/Chestnut
  • Housetrained: Yes
Fuzzy Wuzzy may be small but you should see his heart! He is an 11# neutered male, 1-year-old combo dog (maybe long-haired chihuahua with a dab of Sheltie??), but obviously not your typical Collie or Sheltie. Fuzz was not going to be placed up for adoption in the shelter where he landed as a stray because he was quite fearful. But a Sheltie named Cassie Rose was coming to us from that shelter on that fateful day and we were asked to take Fuzzy as a “bonus.” How could we possibly refuse? Fuzz is an amazing little dude in spite of his rough start. He adores women and children but is less comfortable with men, especially tall ones. We have an awesome volunteer that comes by three times a week just to help with his ongoing socialization. (You go, Steve!!) Fuzzy WuzzyAll of his vet care is completed, and he is crate-trained and 99% housebroken. He plays well with other dogs as long as they don’t overwhelm him. At 90# or so, our Saint Bernard mix, Samwise the Brave, is fascinated by the little doodle and Fuzzy has no idea how to respond to that kind of attention! FuzzButt is the kind of little dog that runs like the wind and jumps waist-high with great exuberance. Combine that with his dazzling little brain and he would excel at agility with a group that is not snobbish about purebreds. Because he is a “little interloper” if there ever was one!

Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Adoption Policies and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
