OUR FIRST STEP TOWARD ANY PLACEMENT IS A COMPLETED APPLICATION WHICH YOU WILL FIND ON OUR WEBSITE AT www.colliesheltierescue.org.  THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR ADOPTION ARE IN THE CONTENT OF THE WEBSITE.  A FENCED YARD, PREVIOUS SHELTIE EXPERIENCE AND A FABULOUS HOME VISIT AND REFERENCE FROM YOUR VET.

PUPDATE ON LITTLE BREEZE.  SOMETHING HAS UNLOCKED THE KEY TO HER HEART. (WE HAVE NO IDEA WHAT DID IT!)  SHE RUNS AROUND THE HOUSE WITH 6 FULL-SIZED COLLIES AND ANOTHER SHELTIE.  SHE STAYS CLOSE TO HER HUMAN (HOPE) AT ALL TIMES AND IS NOW SLEEPING IN HOPE'S BED ON A PILLOW.  WAHOO!!!!

Breeze is a tiny (11#) sable merle Sheltie that needs lots of everything.  Lots of love, lots of tenderness and lots of understanding.  She is spayed and UTD on vaccines, microchipped and starting to get used to human handling.  But she is very much a work in progress.

Breeze came from a commercial breeder where there are too many dogs for proper handling.  Lack of early socialization for timid Shelties is tough to overcome.  But I have seen dogs that get into a positive environment and make major strides.  That is what we wish for Breezie.  You might be just the right person for that job!

From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
