Buddy is a friendly, happy and loveable 10-ish year old neutered male Border Collie.  He stays very close to his chosen person and makes a great companion.  Although his eyesight is not the best and his hearing has dimmed, his heart is true and he is extremely loyal.  He naps often in a sunbeam and he would enjoy having an owner that thought naps should be enjoyed often as well.  Buddy loves being in a grassy backyard and a fence is imperative so that he does not wander too far on his own.  He came to RMCSR at the request of the Fremont County Humane Society because he was miserable there and would not make a good adoption candidate. He has obviously not had the best of care in his former life.  But all of that is behind him now.

Buddy has now been neutered at the same time as an extensive dental cleaning with some extractions.  He still has plenty of good chomping power and really enjoys breakfast and dinner.  His blood chemistries and CBC are remarkably good for a neglected senior dog.  Heartworm negative and on Interceptor as a preventative.  He is vaccinated with everything appropriate and microchipped as well.  All you need to add is love.

Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Adoption Policies and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
