Wow!
Big Shadow (of Medicine Bend) is a once-in-a lifetime kind of canine. He is a 1 1/2 year old 70# combo dog. He got a "get out of jail free card" by being listed as a Collie mix in a shelter in Kansas. And that was the premise we went on. We expected a Collie-ish to exit the van when he arrived. Surprise! But what he is, is a gentle and loving and funny giant fluffy person in a dog suit. Shadow is neutered and completely vaccinated and microchipped. His blood work is perfect and he is heartworm negative. He is working hard at being housebroken but is using an exercise pen when he is not under the watchful eyes of his foster family. He adores men, women, children, other dogs and kitty cats. Horses are an unknown. He met an infant today and snuffled the baby all over until the little boy giggled and Shadow looked overjoyed. Even my husband says, "Shadow is such a nice boy!" ( You would have to understand that my husband puts up with all the rescues tramping through our home semi-grudgingly after many years of it.) Shadow would be heartbroken being left alone all day or being kept outside away from his humans. He deserves the kind of life that was denied him the first time around. It is our job to find him the right forever family this time. Please read about our organization on our website at www.colliesheltierescue.org. And then complete the online adoption application under "adoption process." A completed application is required as our first step toward any and all adoptions. It is not that I don't want to chat with you by phone. But without the completed application, I don't know how fabulous you are!
