Learn more about the Shetland Sheepdog Sheltie.
"Precious Sadie" is a 7-year-old, 20 pound, spayed female sable and white Sheltie. When Sadie's family situation changed dramatically, she came to us for placement. Having just undergone a dental cleaning (with no extractions) and having a cyst removed, she is now ready to look for just the right family for the rest of her life. Her breath is fresh and her eyes are bright! Although Sadie is a little leery of strangers at first, like most Shelties, she is extremely affectionate with her people and wants to be close to them. She may actually prefer men over women but her "mom" is fabulous in her eyes too. She has no noticeable preference for one adult over another when tucked into bed with her foster parents. She is just happy to snuggle. Foster dad Tom describes little Sadie as being a very "smart cookie" that is housebroken and beautifully behaved. She met a cat and had a "deer in the headlights" look on her lovely face initially but went forward to sniff and investigate. Within a short time, the strange species was just another friend. But Sadie would not object to being an only pet just as long as her humans spent all their time with her in their arms or close by their sides. We always recommend a premium quality dog diet for the wonderful canines in our lives. Whatever it takes to keep our beloved dogs healthy and on the earth with us longer is what we should be doing. Sadie is eating Victor grain free salmon and sweet potato kibble and thriving on it. She is rated A1 super special and ready to rock and roll!
