Meet our wonderful, gorgeous Ginny! Ginny is a highly intelligent eight year old Sheltie. She weighs 30 pounds - just as she should! Her health is good and she is quite lovely.

Ginny came to us from a Missouri puppy mill. We were fortunate to be able to help this lovely lady in her quest for her forever home. She is housebroken and crate-trained. And her foster mom provides her all the best things in life. Ginny has learned quickly from her foster fur-siblings that sweetness and good manners are praised, and she loves to be praised.

Our gorgeous Ginny is a focused dog with a high prey drive, so she may not be the best candidate for a first-time dog lover. But she is affectionate and poised around humans and has a lot of love to give to a patient and dog-savvy person. What Ginny, and all former mill dogs need most is - you guessed it - patience! If you are a Sheltie lover who wants to take on the challenge of a remarkable dog who has not had any formal training, this girl has the potential to become that special dog, maybe even a once-in-a-lifetime companion!

Ginny tends to be passive about toys and dog beds. She prefers to rip her toys up (as do a lot of dogs) so she will need to be monitored, otherwise, a shoe might become a toy. This gorgeous girlie can share a home with other dogs, as long as they stand their ground with her or have a size advantage over her. Young children may not be best for Ginny, although kids over 12 may be just fine. As well, Ginny should not be around cats, or any small animals, such as bunnies, gerbils, hamsters, or 5 pound teacup Chihuahuas.

Please begin the process for adoption by reading our  Adoption Policies and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online  Adoption Application . From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email.  You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
