Collie (medium coat) : : Male : : Adult : : Medium
This tall, lean and handsome fellow is Zack, a well-mannered 7-year-old neutered male rough coated collie. Zack had a professional grooming to add to his good-looks and a dental cleaning to make his smile white and gleaming. When his owner went into an assisted living situation, Zack was left in the home alone. When we met him, he was sad. After a couple of weeks of good food and great company in his foster home, he is very much the new and improved Zack. He has a pleasant and even disposition as do most collies around his age. He is mellow and relaxed around familiar people but not so much around strangers.
Zack loves to take long walks but will not be training for any marathons. He is the quintessential collie in his middle years with a lot of love to give to the lucky adults who will be his new family. Around bedtime he loves to be cuddled and kissed, especially after his evening massage. (Who wouldn't?) Zack enjoys the company of other dogs and would be well-suited to a multi-dog household even with smaller dogs. What you see is what you get with this big fellow. One day soon he will put on a few more pounds and he will surprise himself and his loved ones when he barks! It will be a good day when that happens.
