Collie (long coat) : : Male : : Adult : : Large
Mac Gregor is a big, beautiful, glorious 86# rough-coated Collie. He is about 6 years old, which translates to a dog that is settled and not too wild but always open to an adventure. He is neutered (of course!), housebroken and updated on all vaccines. Big Mac is one of those dogs that will have people stopping you on walking trails to ask where you got "Lassie's cousin." He will greet everyone with the same predictable even temperament that makes him the quintessential Collie.
Mac Gregor and his Collie sibling Toshito were the beloved pets of a woman who died recently. She loved them the way dogs deserve to be loved. And we have promised to find the boys a new family to be equally as wonderful for them for the remainder of their lives. We will be exploring the possibility of placing the boys together. But the universe may have something different in mind.
Big Mac had his teeth cleaned recently but his blood pressure dropped before we could extract a couple of teeth. So, he has been scheduled again for the completion of his dental. It is possible to complete his care at the vet clinic of his new mom and dad, if that is the way things progress.
Please consider the possibility of having two Collies in your home and in your lap. Big Mac and Toshi run and play together and truly enjoy each others company. Feeding the highest quality kibble would definitely be a budget item with two Collies but they would also be twice the fun. Look at these faces and move forward from there.
Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Adoption Policies and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously. Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well. |
