OUR FIRST STEP TOWARD ANY PLACEMENT IS A COMPLETED APPLICATION WHICH YOU WILL FIND ON OUR WEBSITE AT www.colliesheltierescue.org.  WITHOUT IT, WE HAVE NO BASIS TO DISCUSS ANY DOG.

Dustin is a 6 month old neutered male Sheltie that is a bi-black in color.  He is lots of fun and enjoys the company of other dogs, humans and kids.  At 12.2#, he is small in stature but not in personality. He loves to run and play, chase a ball and toss it in the air to catch himself.  Right now, he has the company of one of his Sheltie pals that is about the same size and it is a non-stop party between the two of them.  Previous Sheltie experience is a must!  And you would need to promise to carry him around and kiss his precious face at least a couple times a day.

Shelties are notorious for being escape artists so a securely fenced yard is required.  And Shelties are shy by nature, so keeping these small tykes safe is a full time job.  We would be glad to share our knowledge of the breed with you and recommend books on how to make the most of your adopted dog.

But the completed adoption application is ALWAYS the first step.  

Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Adoption Policies and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us.
