ADOPTION PENDING Skylar is an 11-week old female sable headed white rough Collie that came to us with her siblings from Nebraska. She is tender and gentle and very in touch with human emotions. And even while she is playing roughhouse with her doggie pals, she keeps an eye out for where the humans are. While having her intake exam at Hilltop Pet Clinic, the entire staff wandered in and out to meet the six Collie babies. Everyone commented on how gentle Skylar is and that she might make an excellent emotional support dog. All Collie lovers have their favorite color patterns. People either adore the color-headed white Collies or think they don't look like "real" Collies (as in just like Lassie). Skylar is 20# and lithe on her feet, almost dancing when she runs. Her structure is more light-boned than her siblings although she weighs just about the same as the other two females. And she has the dearest little freckles on her nose that are just right for kissing. Collie puppies need lots of love and training (as do all pups) in their formative first year. We will only consider humans who spend most of their time at home whether because at least one of them works from home and can take lots of short breaks for training purposes or because they are young retirees. Collie experience is a must! Collies are such amazing dogs but they are quite soft and require gentle handling. They are sensitive to harsh voices and yelling. It seems to hurt their tender souls. Please consider whether you have the time, commitment and financial resources to care for a dog well for the next fifteen years or so. We should all be so lucky to have our beloved dogs stay with us for a good long time. Happy dogs!
