Sarah is a small (40#) 14 month old spayed female tri-colored rough Collie. This little girl is very companionable with other dogs and loves nothing better than a rough and tumble game, but all in good fun. She seems to have known nothing but happiness in her life. Not much training yet but she picks things up quickly and loves to please her humans. Sarah has a perpetual smile on her face and sunshine in her heart. Her family needs to be very fun-loving and she will continue with this bright spirit all her days. Young Collies and kids just naturally seem to go together. Sarah would probably be too rowdy and bouncy for toddlers and might bounce them over like Tigger. But 10 years old and up would have a wonderful time with her and the children would carry that first Collie dog experience with them always. Mom and Dad will need to help with the obedience training. Only positive training methods, with or without treats, with a soft dog like a Collie. Harshness or unkindness would destroy a gentle collie's self-esteem and cause them to fear humans. That just cannot happen! Without a completed application, we can't discuss Sarah or any of the RMCSR dogs. You will find the online application on our website at www.colliesheltierescue.org. The more detailed information you provide, the better we can evaluate whether you might be just the perfect match for sweet Sarah.
