Collie (medium coat) : : Male : : Young
Born on July 20, 2016, this handsome 2 y/o male Collie is already an amazing dog. His name is Skyler and I honestly believe he thinks e v e r y o n e is his best bud. His current weight is 51.6 pounds. However, I wouldn't be surprised if, at full maturity, he could touch 60 pounds. A purebred adult Collie with a charisma such as Skyler’s is pretty much the norm, but a 2 year old Collie, that is gifted with a magical demeanor and the know-how to effectively use it ... now that is truly a rarity. With his beauty, grace and intelligence Skyler can (and will) easily get your attention. But it’s his gorgeous amber/brown eyes, his youthful spirit and that oh’ so charming personality that will win your heart. Having fostered and loved over 70 dogs, each with their own unique character, I must say that Skyler, still but a pup, is close to, if not already at the top of the list. Sky loves to run, and what a treat it is to see him do so. He’s a big boy with a large gait that can cover a lot of ground rather quickly. And if he’s feeling super silly and energetic he might even decide to add 3 or 4 giant bunny hops to his romp. It’s so funny to see him hopping around like that. So a large fenced back yard is what would be best for him. Believe me, he'll need the space. Though he is a tad too big for smaller children, he is perfect for dog loving kids 10 and up. He's not shown fear nor animosity towards strangers, bicyclists, cars etc. However, cat’s and other critters are an unknown, but I suspect he would be fine with them too. Though he is quickly learning what is and isn’t ok when on walks, or when visiting his neighbors etc. he will require additional training, also on things such as common commands and basic manners. But not to worry, he is quite smart and learns quickly. Skyler has received all required vaccinations, and a 3 yr. rabies shot. He’s recently been neutered and micro-chipped and his teeth are as white as the driven snow. He's house-trained too. Simply put, this delightful dog is anxious to meet his forever family. Someone out there is going to get a magnificent friend when they adopt Skyler ... Guaranteed!
