This is a dog with lots of nicknames.  Woody, Woodrow, Good Wood, Would you like a biscuit?...he answers to all of them.  Every dog looking for a forever home has a story to tell.  And Woody is no exception. It has taken 10 months of rehab for Woody to be ready for a real life.  And if you are the people who will love this boy for a lifetime, we will happily share every detail.

Woody came to us as an adolescent dog from a hoarding situation and had never been handled much.  But he soon discovered that his foster mom would feed him twice a day, rain or shine, and that she always carried treats in her pockets.  Those long things called leashes meant that they could go outside to sniff the world.  And rolling in the grass under the biggest tree (when no one was looking) was wonderful and cool and lots of fun.

Woody is around a year and a half old, a neutered male that is vaccinated and microchipped and excited to be a part of the world.   He is still shy around strangers and that may never change.  But he gives his affection sweetly to someone who will be calm and gentle with him.  And there will never be more loyal companionship than to a single woman who will value that relationship.  Woody has a blast with the other dogs that want to play in his foster home.  He runs like the wind, in and out of the dog door, stopping to snuggle for a moment and sniff around in the kitchen (his favorite room of the house).  His foster mom will be sobbing as Woody leaves for his real life.  But each dog deserves to have a family of their very own and a special person in that family that makes the emotional connection that each of us deserves to have.  Woody is patiently waiting to meet that special person.

Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us.
