Collie (short coat) : : Male : : Adult : : Large
Smoke is a 2 1/2 year old neutered male smooth Collie that is healthy and happy and ready for a forever home with some lucky humans. He is playful and energetic and loves to go for walks and trots. Smoke loves the company of other dogs and cats and a particular 8-year-old human kiddo too. He is gentle and sweet-natured and will reach out and place a paw gently on your arm to get your attention. How cute is that? Smoke is obviously used t a crate and likes to have one available for naps or overnight. But he is also housebroken now and only needs to go in and out of the same door to prove himself worthy. He is a great eater but has been known to eat pretty quickly. There are specific bowls made for dogs that inhale their food and the designs are awesome. (They would be available at most pet food supply stores and online as well.) Smooth Collies are double-coated just like the more traditional rough coated variety is. So shedding can be an issue if they are not kept well-brushed. But the smooth Collie has a much harder fur similar to a German Shepherd's coat so the individual pieces of fur are shorter. (Good news?) They are a bit more energetic for a greater number of years. (Unless that is wishful thinking on my part.) They will do best on a high quality grain free kibble with or without fresh fruits, vegetables and lean protein added. We hope to hear from potential adopters with lots of doggie experience. Applications first please.
