Holiday Rascal is a 5-year-old neutered male Sheltie/Aussie mix. He is 26# of snuggable companion dog that wants nothing more than to be by your side. He loves men, women, children and other dogs. We have not seen him with kitties but I bet he would accept them as friends too. He has a sunny outlook on life from first light to a late evening stroll around the neighborhood. Rascal (with the added name of "Holiday" because we had another Rascal recently) is a very lucky fellow. He was abandoned in a trailer park in Pueblo West in Southern Colorado during a severe cold spell. If a neighbor had not taken action quickly, Rascal could have had a sad and lonely end to his life. Rascal is hearing impaired. We are not sure if he is completely deaf as he seems to hear some loud low sounds. There is a ton of information available on the best ways to work with dogs with limited hearing. Hand signals should be used as well as verbal cues for training. So many of our beloved senior dogs lose hearing as they age that this kind of information will be invaluable for them as well. The hearing issue is not a big deal for Rascal and we trust it won't be a big deal for the right family. A recent dental cleaning has completed Rascal's vet care. He is housebroken and has learned "sit" and "come." "Love me" was already pre-programmed into this lovely little fellow. Give him a chance to prove himself to be your next best friend.
