Sasha is a 7-year-old spayed female Sheltie. She is a little shy, as
are many Shelties, but not painfully so. At 38#, she is a chunky
little character but quite lovely and sweet. A good quality lowfat
diet (Natural Balance Fat Dog is a great food with an awful name) with
green beans and carrots as treats and lots of walks and Sasha will be
drop dead gorgeous. Her coat was in pretty bad shape and a groomer
that does not know much about Shelties gave her a "lion cut." Our
groomer has evened it out and it is growing in well already.

Sasha is heartworm negative and has great baseline bloodwork. She has
had all of the appropriate vaccines and is microchipped with a
HomeAgain microchip. Her thyroid function is normal and we have
started her on Dasuquin soft chews because she is carrying those 10
extra pounds. Men, women and children all seem to like Sasha and she
likes them too. We had a five-year-old girl visit unexpectedly and
Sasha ended up sitting on the little girl's lap on the floor but I did
not have my camera handy. It was darling!

Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Adoption Policies and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
